About Campbell Elementary

Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary Media and Performing Arts Institute achieves excellence through unity, collaboration, and respect. The east Austin school is part of close-knit community in which several generations have attended Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary.

The school's strong focus on teaching and learning includes partnership with local teaching artists, use of creative learning strategies, arts-based instruction, and social and emotional learning to support the whole child.

Through strengthened partnerships with neighboring organizations and relationships with community members, the school is a media and performing arts institute where students learn film-making, digital portfolios, stop motion animation, daily newscasting, dance, and more.

About Principal Moore - AISD 2022-2023 Principal of the Year!

Principal Moore is a native Austinite who grew up on the East side of Austin. A product of the Austin Independent School District, he attended Kealing Magnet School and McCallum High School (where all graduating Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary scholars will attend).

He is a proud graduate of Huston-Tillotson University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in English. After teaching in high needs, Title I campuses for nine years, Moore completed graduate school in 2009 as a member of the cohort of the Principalship Program at the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Moore worked as an assistant principal at Cook Elementary for three years. Next, he served in the Associate Superintendents’ Office as an administrative supervisor for 24 Austin elementary and middle schools.

He currently serves the very community in which he grew up, as the proud principal of Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary, "Home of the Blue Dragons!"

In 2023, Principal Moore was also honored with Austin NAACP's Outstanding Leadership Education award.

Principal's Coffee

Once a month at 8:30a, Principal Moore hosts a coffee session to update parents on the latest and greatest at the school, and existing parents can ask questions that are on their minds.

Prospective parents are welcome too, and can take a tour of the school after the meeting. Please contact the main office to confirm your attendance.
